What does a 1986 song by Huey Lewis and the News have to do with what we do with our financial resources? Nothing really. But I bet you didn't know that the song - which rose to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart - featured back-up vocals by football Hall of Famers Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott! But ... that doesn't really matter either. We chose the name of the song as a theme to highlight a specific ROCK challenge: "Buy" at least one $1000 square of our property so we can get it paid off and start to build. We'll have a little fun (actually a lot of fun) with what is normally a chore to teach. What a witness to the community if we defy conventional wisdom, look past difficult economic times, and honor God by making three sacrifices: tithe, buy a square, buy one needed item for our ministry.

Maybe we should have named this thing "It's Hip to Buy Square."
